What are the differences between the 2023 Ram 1500 and the 2023 Ram Classic?

You may have noticed that once again, in 2023, Ram is going to offer its new generation of pickup trucks, but also the old one, under the Classic name. Besides the fact that the two models are different in design, what are the real differences between the two, the ones that really matter?

Styling

The first thing that strikes you is, of course, the difference between the design of the two models. Ram has completely reworked the style of its current Ram 1500 model to modernize it for the arrival of the new generation.

What’s incredible is that you can see that the new Ram is more modern, but you realize that the old one is still beautiful. The latter was presented for 2009. It confirms that its lines are timeless. They still look good after almost 15 years.

The interior

The price range

The reason Ram decided to keep the older generation Classic model on the menu is because it wanted to offer a more affordable model for buyers who want a truck and the capability it offers first and foremost. So, when comparing the base versions of the 2023 Ram 1500 and 2023 Ram Classic, you will notice a difference of about 12 000$. Moreover, the Ram 1500 is offered in much more expensive versions with a lot more luxury features.  

Under the hood

Ram could have greatly simplified its offering with the Classic model, but it decided to remain generous. It offers several cab and bed configurations and under the hood, two engines are still available, the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and the famous 5.7-liter Hemi V8, which is offered as an option

The 2023 Ram 1500 offers a bit more, understandably. Both of the Classic model’s powertrains are on the menu, but not necessarily with every version. What’s important to remember is that, in addition to the same engine options, you can choose the 3.0-liter 6-cylinder diesel with some versions, as well as the 702-horsepower Hellcat V8 engine with the TRX model.
