Design
The first thing you’ll notice about the 2019 Jeep Cherokee is its distinctive Jeep design. Upfront, there’s the brand’s signature seven-slot grille and waterfall hood. Available bi-LED projector headlamps give the snout a modern touch. Meanwhile, an available hands-free power liftgate can be found at the rear of the SUV.
Inside, you’ll find high-quality materials, useful storage areas and the latest conveniences. A 7-inch customizable digital instrument cluster is available for the driver, while passengers enjoy optional dual-automatic climate control. Everyone benefits from an available dual-pane panoramic sunroof.
The cargo area is impressive as well. With the rear seats folded, there are a full 1,634 litres of space on hand. Versatility is further enhanced by a height-adjustable rear cargo floor.

Capability
First and foremost, the Cherokee is a Jeep. That means it uses an advanced powertrain to provide the class-leading capability. The base engine is a 2.4L Tigershark 4-cylinder (180 hp, 171 lb.-ft.), Additional engine choices include a 3.2L Pentastar V6 (271 hp, 239 lb.-ft.) and an all-new turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder (270 hp, 295 lb.-ft.). A 9-speed automatic transmission backs all engine options.
Front-wheel drive comes standard (four-wheel drive is optional) on all models except the Trailhawk, which is offered exclusively with a four-wheel drive. And when properly equipped, V6-powered Cherokees can tow up to 4,500 lbs.
When it comes to off-road adventure, the Trailhawk is the most capable Cherokee. The purpose-built SUV packs heavy-duty equipment, such as a locking rear differential, tow hooks and a factory-installed 1-inch suspension lift.
Technology
The Jeep new Cherokee is brimming with the latest technology, such as the fourth-generation Uconnect multimedia center with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Plus, more than 80 safety and security features are available. Occupants are protected by eight standard airbags, as well as the latest advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). Optional equipment includes:
